September inspirations by Jennifer Jacques

Hello Blue Fern Studios fanatics!

Here are 3 layouts, all made with the brand new HAPPY ACCIDENT 2!!!

As Happy accident was my all-time favorite from BFS,
I was thrilled to work HA2 as part of this design team.

So here is my first one

I used "Faux" and "Suave" as my background paper.

Above, the title was embossed with Black Sand embossing powder and below,
you  can see the new Criss Cross chippies who are embossed also but
 with Oatmeal embossing powder.

I've made some random stamping with the music sheet from the stamp set "For the birds".

My second layout was a beachy theme creation.

Use some ephemeras here and there also to complete my focal point.
My focal point is based on the Swirls and Twirls chippies
and were embossed with 2 colors:
Sea mist and Breeze.

Some Wanderlust lilies around my picture...

Some  stamping with Swiss dots and also with Halftone stamps.
Below: Waderlust and Ephemeras again :)

June inspiration by Jennifer Jacques

Hello Blue Fern fans!
Jennifer here for June inspirations.
2 layouts with the new Tattered walls collection and another one with previous release.

So, I will start today with a layout about my brother's first Spartan Race.

I've start this layout by simply add some ink through a stencil on my background,
which is The maid's room
Used a lot of new assorted ephemeras to built my focus point.
Numbers are cut out from In the garage paper.

Then' I've finish this first layout bu adding some flowers from my own stash, flairs, enamel dots and some dimensional black paint drops.

Really love that Blue Fern Studios now have ephemeras to complete our layouts :)

For my second layout, it was also the Tattered Walls collection that have inspired me.  And my boyfriend gave me a challenge: using a Cercei's picture from Games of Thrones.

So let's start with it!

Here I've start with clear gesso on my background paper: Powder room (b-side)
Then, some sprays to add watercolors, some modeling paste with a stencil and some random stamping with differents Blue Fern Studios stamps.  Above, you can easily see the Tattered Newsprint stamp.  Under, Penned flourishes stamp.

You can see  an Opulence and Elegant Flourish chipboards,
embossed with the new Sparkling navy embossing powder.
I'm glad that the Spring Peony matches my layout this well.  They surrounded my picture very nicely.

Spring blooms and a summer bloom complete my flowers clusterings.

Here again, ephemeras helped me a lot to build my focus point.
Finish with my usual paint splatters and that was it!

Finally, with the only Déjà Vu paper that I had in my stash:  Lustre :)

Here again, clear gesso, pearl modeling paste through a stencil.
I have painted all my frame chipboards
(Glam frame, Embellished frame, and one from Classic Mini frames set)
in white and then stamped with an Halftone stamp on them.

For my title, I used 2 different embossing powdersSparkling navy and then, Lavender eggs.

A few Blue Fern Studios flowers here and there mixed with some others from my stash.

Above, the white one from Spring blooms
Under, the yellow one from Fresh florals, same as under my title :)

Really love how it goes all together :)

In the mood and Remnants inspirations by Jennifer Jacques

Good morning Blue Fern Fanatics!

It's my turn today on the Blue Fern Studios blog to present my February inspirations.
Did you see the gorgeous new collection "In the mood"?
Absolutely in love with this pink/red and soooooo romantic collection.

Here is my first layout with those brand new products.

"Fabulous"

First, I  primed my background "Optimistic"paper with clear gesso and, then, applied some modeling paste through a stencil.  A little bit of spray to highlight the design and I was ready to go further.

I made my focal point by layering my picture on chipboard, die cut and a piece of "Pensive" paper.

You can see in the picture below, 2 new colors of embossing powders that just came out with In the mood.  Black gold on the chipboard, and the lovely Pixie dust on my doily die cut.  On the leaves, I chose one of my favorite green color, Forest.

Add some printed coordinated chipies under the picture and some laces across the page
(the black one is 3B and ivory one is lace12).

Then, I added some flowers.
The white one is gorgeous with a little bit of glitter on it.  It is from the Garden Blooms set.
On my title, it is the Ivory embossing powder that I chose.

In final touches, I printed some little tiny dots with the Halftone stamp: you can barely see them loll.
Added some gesso splatters and that was it!

Chipboard: In the mood printed chipboard

Embossing powders: Pixie dust
                                     Black gold
                             Ivory
                              Forest
Lace: 3B & 12

Flower: Garden blooms (white one)

Stamp: Halftone

"Beautiful"

For my second inspiration, it is the "Flirty" paper that I chose for my background.

I added some texture on my backgroud with some 3D gel medium on which I sprinkled some
Rose Gold glitters.  Some crackle paste over another stencil, some printing with one of my Blue Fern Studios favorite stamp: Newsprint.

I cut in  parts one of the In the mood printed chipboard  and displayed them under my picture, which is also on a piece of b-side "Pensive" paper.  Also used the circle calendar that came in the coordinated printed chipboard as an embellishment.  The biggest flower  was in the Moody floral flowers set (the pale pink one, that I sprayed a little bit to match the paper's color).

I used 2 colors of embossing powders on my leaves below: Fern and Forest.

Added some enamel dots, more flowers from my stash and, again,
gesso splatters and this one was done!

Last but not least for February,  Remnants collection inspiration!

"Memories"

Here, it's the "Westfield" paper as my backgroud.  As usual, primed with clear gesso.  I used some printed chipboard to build my focal point.  Some lace 7 to add texture, some glitters "In the forest" on the edges of my chipboard and "Meadow" seedlings as final touches on the printed chippies.

Did you see those beautiful flowers below???
My favorite from Blue Fern Studios, the lilies.  Just loooooooove them 💗  The red one from the Harvest Lilies set and the green/brown one from the Wanderlust collection.  Also, under the side of my cluster, a white one from the Remnants blooms ;)

June Attic Charm Inspiration from Cathi

I have a big interest in genealogy and when I was younger my aunt gave me copies of many photos of our ancestors, I have some really great images and this month I decided to use family vintage photos for all of my layouts! I just love preserving our history a little bit this way.

For my first layout I feature a gorgeous photo of my grandfather Ernie Jones, circa 1910. I just love the way he is dressed and how they have him seated at a table. I used the Attic Charm Attic Key paper as my base and the gorgeous Mercantile paper featuring the chair image to reflect this in the layers I added to the layout. My title Treasure came form the Calling Cards page.

In this close up you can see the gorgeous Attic Trunk chipboard piece which has been embossed with Imagine Ink Embossing Powder in Ginger and "antiqued" with Sage Embossing Powder!  I have added some Attic Charm Daisies and Courtship Blooms.

In this close up you can see the Mini Flourish covered in gorgeous Imagine Ink Fool's Gold Glitter. I did a lot of background work and I have stamped the Halftone stamps, the postmark stamp from the Desk Set stamp set and a favorite of mine the cross texture stamp from Forever stamp set.  I added mist and masking using my texture paste.

There are lots of gorgeous Blue Fern Flowers on this layout, I have used the Attic Charm Glitter Roses, Courtship Blooms and Tranquil Lilies.  I have used the Imagine Ink Fool's Gold Glitter again to color the Vintage Lock chipboard.  I finished off the layout with lots of stitching around the edges.

This next layout features my great grandmother, Helen Tobin, when she was a young girl along with her sister. I just love the pose with the flower basket and chair...they don't look too happy here but I think they had to stand still for ages back in those days to take the photos!  The base of the layout is the gorgeous Haberdashery paper.

Here in this closeup you can see a cutout from the Calling Cards paper, "The Good Old Days". I have also used the Mercantile paper to build up my layers. Lots of Courtship Blooms here and Attic Charm Daisies.

I used the Graduated Squares and embossed them in Cotton Candy Imagine Ink Embossing Powder and added these to my layers. I tucked in another cut out from the Calling Cards paper and added some kraft tags for journaling.

In my final close up for this layout you can see my trio of chipboard (Film Strip, Vintage Locks, and Adorable) embossed in the gorgeous Ginger Imagine Ink Embossing Powder. I have added some stamping of the cross background stamp for the Forever stamp set. I also love the Making Plans stamp as it is a collage of some of my favorite texture backgrounds and depending on what part of the stamp I ink up I can get book page, script, rules, blue prints, or several other gorgeous patterns! The final stamp I added to the background is the needle book stamp from the Needlework stamp set, randomly around the edges. I added some misting and some masking with texture paste and a bit of splattering. To finish off this layout I added some stitching around the edges.

My final layout is a layout I did for the sketch challenge. This photo is of my Great Aunt Marge who had it taken for my Great Uncle Les before he went off to war. He took it with him to remember her and I called this layout Patience because that is what they needed to make it through war time to see each other again and go on to have many years together and many many children!  For the base paper for this layout I chose the Attic Charm Curio paper. I took many cut outs from the Calling Cards paper to layer under my photo.  Here is the challenge sketch if you want to join in!

In this closeup you can see the gorgeous Attic Charm Glitter Roses and Daisies, as well as a Courtship Rose. I have layered the huge beautiful Roman Clock Set - Large, embossed with Imagine Ink Embossing Powder in Oatmeal underneath the photo.

I embossed the Patience chipboard piece with Imagine Ink Embossing Powder in Mushroom as well as flecks of Oatmeal.  I have added lace and pears to match her dress and necklace as part of my layout and I have tucked in some Bits of Honey chipboard pieces into the photo cluster as well.

To finish off the layout I added some background stamping using the gorgeous cross texture stamp yet again from the Forever set. I added the brick wall stamp from Essential Textures and also the clock stamp from the Bird Vignettes stamp set.  I tucked in a tag with some typed journaling about my great aunt's story and added some stitching again to finish off the layout.

I really enjoyed with Attic Charm set of layouts with a family history theme. I love that the photos are all my relations! I just love the care they took when making photos back then and am grateful for all the gorgeous memories! I hope you enjoyed these and am glad you took the time to visit! The Attic Charm collection is a gorgeous one!
